NTRODUCING THE ISLAMIC MEDICAL ASSOCIATION OF MALAYSIA CHILDREN AND TEENS SUPER TEAM (IMACATS) -AN INITIATIVE TO ADDRESS CHILDREN AND TEENS HEALTH ISSUES EARLY AND IN A FUN WAY.
Among the long list of health issues of Malaysian children and teens include the baby dumping phenomena, pre-marital sex, obesity, emerging cases of measles, rocketing number of dengue cases, smoking and now vaping. This is only the tip of the iceberg. Early prevention can save lives; hence, our ultimate aim is to initiate early health education. It is crucial for parents and children to acquire health education in methods that are easily comprehended. IMACATS (Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia Children and Teens Super Team) under the umbrella of IMAM (Islamic Medical Association Malaysia) is an initiative with this objective. IMACATS value the importance of fostering health education, essentially of Islamic values in the early stages of life. We believe that this element is lacking and is the key to tackling today’s health issues. IMACATS also aims to empower the younger generation as the change agent to themselves, their peers, siblings, parents and family. finally IMACATS aim to be a platform for anyone especially those coming from the medical sector who is passionate about the welbeing of our children and teenagers to engage themselves in activities and projects that fosters health education among these children and their families. This is the chance for everyone in the medical sector to come forward closer to the community and play their role in enlightening parents about their children and teens health and well being at the same time get a hands on expereince in dealing with the children and teens. Let’s start learning about health early and in the fun way!
